That’s right! You now no longer have to share your precious $400 GPS with your kid! No more worrying obsessively about them punching the wrong buttons, scratching the screen or dropping it in the lake! For about $70 you can have peace of mind. If you ask me it’s totally worth it.

Geocaching.com describes it as “family-friendly” and a great introductory tool for “casual geocaching”. I suppose it would be. It does have some limitations, so check out the links below to find out more.

    We bought a geomate JR on mothers day weekend 2009 – it was instant success! we have loved it and have done many caches in our state, both near and far from home. Our only disappointment is the waiting for the update cable…we holiday in canada regularly and we cannot access any geocaches outside of the US without the cable, and it isnt out yet :(

    LOVE the product though – my 4yo can find a geocache easy peasy…and the big kids love it to. Yay geomate!
