Tupperware Tuesday: The Big C

Tupperware Tuesday: The Big C

By Kryptic on January 26, 2010

Today was “that” day. The day you wake up and realize that you are: down to the last 4 rolls of T.P., two-thirds of the way through the last roll of paper towels and the fridge has enough extra room to be rented out, or possibly turned into a guest house. Yes, it is “that” [...]

Tupperware Tuesday: Karma's First Cache!

Tupperware Tuesday: Karma’s First Cache!

By Kryptic on January 19, 2010

Today was a very special caching day for me. It was the first time Karma came geocaching! She is officially a “GeoDog” now. She even has her own “Karma GeoDog TB Tag” and everything! She has snuggled into our hearts and our family quite well. The cats crawl over, under and around her and she [...]

Tupperware Tuesday - Haitian Earthquake

Tupperware Tuesday – Haitian Earthquake

By Kryptic on January 13, 2010

This week I postponed my Tuesday geocaching plans. The earthquake in Haiti took the world’s center stage and I, like the rest of the planet, looked on with sadness and grief. As a native Southern Californian I am no stranger to the earth’s power when she decides to stretch and yawn or scratch an itch. [...]

Tupperware Tuesday - Inspiration Day

Tupperware Tuesday – Inspiration Day

By Kryptic on January 5, 2010

I choose these two caches to start off the New Year and this carnival intentionally. I have been driving past these caches since they were placed, thinking: “Oh, I should go grab those..It’s only take a few minutes…” then I’d look at the time and fret about being late and think to myself: “There is [...]

"Tupperware Tuesday" Blog Carnival

“Tupperware Tuesday” Blog Carnival

By Kryptic on December 30, 2009

“Tupperware Tuesday” is about getting to those geocaches that have been sitting on our “To-Do” list for way too long! You know the ones I am talking about. Those quick caches that are languishing just off our usual route to the grocery store, pharmacy, vet appointment, etc. The “Oh yeah I should have turned left, well maybe next trip”, caches that we all pass everyday. Those “I’ve been meaning to go get to that one”, puzzle caches that we solved last winter and forgot about come spring. (I now have a binder full of those pages I found while cleaning out my files!) And oh yeah… leftovers.

 A Geocacher's Tale

A Geocacher’s Tale

By Kryptic on December 6, 2009

I grew up in an endless city. Going outside to play meant going into the backyard which was half concrete and riding my bike in small circles or climbing up the lone tree that was in the center of the yard. Going beyond the confines of our yard was just not safe. We would go [...]

Stealthy Caching

Stealthy Caching

By Kryptic on September 11, 2009

There is an unwritten contract between cache owner and cache seeker. Owners, do their best to find good locations, take accurate readings and to maintain the cache. And cache seekers, do their very best to keep that cache well hidden, in that carefully chosen location, a secret.

Reminiscing – The Beginning

By Kryptic on September 2, 2009

It is rare in life to find an endeavor that fundamentally changes the way you look at the world and how you live your life. This is how I became a geocacher.

The GPS Maze Event Roundup

The GPS Maze Event Roundup

By Kryptic on May 10, 2009

The GPS Adventure Maze event at Seattle’s Pacific Science Center was an eye-opening experience. I had never seen so many geocachers in one place! Even Jeremy seemed quite surprised by the turnout. There were lots of people snapping lots of pictures. The best ones belong to Jeremy. You can view Jeremy’s flicker photo set of [...]
