Has This Ever Happened to You? It’s late. Or early if you like. 12:20 am. It’s raining. And the sound of the rain hitting the roof has made your mind tired and groggy. You are getting ready for bed, but feel compelled to check your email one more time and… There it is. A Puzzle [...]

Today’s “Tupperware Tuesday” actually has a Tupperware find in it! OK, not Tupperware per-se, actually a small Lock N Lock, but clear plastic none the less! I’m not usually a fan of clear Tupperware caches. I like caches that are creatively cammoed and hidden in plain sight, but for a very busy running all over [...]

Today was “that” day. The day you wake up and realize that you are: down to the last 4 rolls of T.P., two-thirds of the way through the last roll of paper towels and the fridge has enough extra room to be rented out, or possibly turned into a guest house. Yes, it is “that” [...]

Today was a very special caching day for me. It was the first time Karma came geocaching! She is officially a “GeoDog” now. She even has her own “Karma GeoDog TB Tag” and everything! She has snuggled into our hearts and our family quite well. The cats crawl over, under and around her and she [...]

I choose these two caches to start off the New Year and this carnival intentionally. I have been driving past these caches since they were placed, thinking: “Oh, I should go grab those..It’s only take a few minutes…” then I’d look at the time and fret about being late and think to myself: “There is [...]

“Tupperware Tuesday” is about getting to those geocaches that have been sitting on our “To-Do” list for way too long! You know the ones I am talking about. Those quick caches that are languishing just off our usual route to the grocery store, pharmacy, vet appointment, etc. The “Oh yeah I should have turned left, well maybe next trip”, caches that we all pass everyday. Those “I’ve been meaning to go get to that one”, puzzle caches that we solved last winter and forgot about come spring. (I now have a binder full of those pages I found while cleaning out my files!) And oh yeah… leftovers.

On December 3rd, Groundspeak enlisted the help of geocachers nationwide to participate in a social networking/GPS technology challenge commissioned by the, Defense Advanced Research Project Agency of the United States, or DARPA. I grew up in an endless city. Going outside to play meant going into the backyard which was half concrete and riding my bike in small circles or climbing up the lone tree that was in the center of the yard. Going beyond the confines of our yard was just not safe. We would go [...]

At the Metaplaces Conference in San Jose California, Jeremy Irish sat down with Ludovic Privat for a brief interview. Jeremy shares a little bit about Groundspeak Inc. and the growth of geocaching all over the world. It nice to see the big guy putting putting himself out there a bit more and letting us get [...]
